Quebec--Victoria CC, Quebec City

     Eve Belisle(9-2)(Longue Pointe/Lachine CC) defeated Chantal Osborne 7-5 in the Championship final  by stealing a single point in the 10th end.

     For Belisle, it will be her 1st Scott appearance but her 2nd Canadian Championship appearance.

     In 2005, she Skipped Quebec at the Canadian Mixed in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where she recorded a record of 4-7. Martine Comeau curled 2nd in Prince Albert.

Prince Edward Island--Maple Leaf CC, O'Leary

 

     Suzanne Gaudet(6-0)(Charlottetown CC) defeated Selly Bradey in the final 11-3       

For Gaudet it will be her 3rd Scott title to go along with 5 Canadian Junior appearances including 2 back to back Canadian titles and a World Title in 2001.

        For 3rd Susan McInnis, it will be her 6th trip to the Scott, 5th as a 3rd, she has skipped once(1996) and lead in 2003.

        Nancy Cameron will be making her 5th trip to the Scott as a player. She was 5th player twice. 

        Cameron has also been to 4 Canadian Mixed, for PEI 3 times and NB once and once as a skip at the Canadian Juniors in 1980.

        Tricia Affleck, a 2 time All Star at both Lead and 2nd,  is making her 5th trip to the Scott. Tricia has also been to the Canadian Juniors twice.

Yukon/Northwest Territories--Yellowknife CC

     Kerry Koe(6-0)(Yellowknife CC) defeated Sandy Penkala 8-1 in Draw 5 Saturday evening giving her a record of 5-0 and that win coupled with Nicole Baldwin's 8-7 loss at the hands of Dawn Moses gave the Y/Nwt Scott Championship to the Koe rink. Koe also won her final game Sunday morning to finish perfect at 6-0.

     For Koe it will be her 3rd trip as a player to the Scott, twice as a 5th. She had 5 trips to the Canadian Junior Curling championship's and 2 trips to the Canadian Mixed. For Monique Gagnier it will be her 3rd trip to the Scott with 1 Mixed trip and 1 Junior Trip.

     Kelli Turpin will be making her 5th trip to the Scott, 3 for Nfld/Lab and 2nd for the Y/Nwt. Kelli has 2 appearances at the Canadian Juniors. For Heather McCagg-Nystrom, it will be her 3rd trip to the Scott, she has 1 appearance at the Canadian Juniors.

British Columbia--Williams Lake CC

     Kelly Scott(7-1)(Kelowna CC) defeated Toni Wells in the BC final Sunday 8-5.

     For Scott it will be her 2nd Scott appearance. Scott has 2 appearances at the Canadian Junior, winning the Title for Manitoba in 1995. She also won the World Junior Title that same year.

     For team members Jenna Schrader, Sasha Carter and Renee Simons this will be their 2nd Scott appearance. Sasha Carter was with Kelly Scott when they won the Canadian and World Junior Title in 1995.

     3rd Jenna Schraeder has 3 Canadian Junior Women's appearances.

     Cathy King(8-0)(Saville Center CC) defeated Renee Sonnenberg in the final Sunday afternoon 8-2. Sonnenberg eliminated Renelle Bryden 6-3 in Sunday's morning's semi-final.

     Cathy King will be making her 7th appearance at the Scott winning the title in 1998. She has 2 appearances at the Canadian Juniors and a winner in both tries in 1977 and 1978 and 2 appearances at the Canadian Mixed.

     3rd Lori Armistead is making her 2nd Scott appearance and she also has 1 Junior appearance.

     2nd Raylene Rocque is making her 2nd trip to the Scott and she has 1 Junior Appearance while Lead Tracy Bush is making her 2nd trip to the Scott. Bush also has a Canadian Junior Championship Title to her credit in 1989 playing for Manitoba.

     Janet Harvey(7-2)(Ft.Rouge CC) defeated Kristy Jenion in the final Sunday 9-3. For Harvey it will be her 3rd trip to the Scott Tournament of Hearts.

     For Jill Thurston, this will be her 1st trip to the Scott as a player having been twice as a 5th. It will be the 1st trip for both Cherie-Ann Loder and Carey Burgess.      Both Thurston and Loder have 1 appearance at the Canadian Juniors.

     Colleen Jones(7-1)(Mayflower CC) defeated Kay Zinck in the final 9-8 in an extra end Sunday afternoon for the NS Scott title. Zinck defeated Jill Mouzar in the semi-final Sunday morning 9-8. 

     Colleen Jones will be appearing in her 20th Scott Tournament of Hearts, 19th as a skip and 13th as Nova Scotia Champion.

     She has 8 appearances at the Canadian Mixed including 2 Title wins in 1993 and 1999 and has 2 appearances at the Canadian Juniors.

     For Kim Kelly this will be her 13th trip to the Scott. Kim has 1 appearance at the Canadian Mixed winning the title in 2003. For 2nd Mary Anne Arsenault, this will be her 9th trip to the Scott. For Lead Nancy Delahunt this will be her 11th trip to the Scott.

New Brunswick--Beausejour CC, Moncton

     Andrea Kelly(7-1)(Capital Winter Club) defeated Heidi Hanlon in the final Sunday scoring a single in the 10th end for an 8-7 win.

     Kelly, last year's Canadian Junior Women's Champion, will be appearing at the Scott for the first time. 3rd Kristen MacDiarmid and 2nd Jodie deSolla also played with Kelly on the Junior team last season.

     At the World Junior Championship, Kelly and her team lost the semi-final to the eventual winner Switzerland but won the Bronze Medal against Denmark

Newfoundland/Labrador--Rec Plex CC, Corner Brook

     Heather Strong(5-1)(St.John's CC) defeated Cathy Cunningham 6-5 in the sudden death final Sunday afternoon.

     Cathy Cunningham forced the sudden death Championship final as a result of her extra end 9-6 win over Heather Strong this morning.

     For Heather Strong it will be 6th trip to the Scott while she has 4 appearances at the Canadian Junior Women's along with her sister Laura.

     For 3rd Shelley Nichols, this will be her 1st appearance at the Scott but Shelley was the winning 3rd on the winning Newfoundland rink that won the Canadian Mixed title in 2004 with her brother Mark the skip. 

     Shelley also has 3 appearances at the Canadian Juniors. For Heather's sister Laura, this will be her 3rd trip to the Scott. For Lead Susan O'Leary this will be her 2nd trip to the Scott.

Ontario--Fort Francis CC

     Krista Scharf(9-2)(Ft.William CC) defeated Janet McGhee in the Ontario Scott final Saturday evening 7-6, scoring a deuce in the 10th end for her victory. Scharf who finished tied with McGhee after the RR defeated McGhee in the Page 1 vs 2 game to make it 3 in a row over McGhee which included the RR win.

     It will be Scharf's 1st Scott appearance while she has represented Northern Ontario at the Canadian Junior Championship's 4 times. 3rd Tara George-Coulterman has been to 2 Canadian Juniors, 2nd Tiffany Stubbings has been to 1 Canadian Juniors while for Lorraine Lang(Lead) this will be her 6th trip to the Scott Tournament of Hearts.

     She has won the Scott Championship twice playing third for Heather Houston in 1988 playing for Ontario and in 1989 as Team Canada. Lang has also been to the Canadian Mixed Championship once and was a winner in 1981 with Rick Lang. Michelle Boland(5th) has 1 appearance at the Canadian Juniors.

     This is the 1st time since 1992 since a team from Thunder Bay(western part of Ontario) has represented Ontario at the Scott Tournament of Hearts. Kim Clark skipped Ontario to a 4-7 mark that year.
